Flash Fiction February 001: Malaysia, Kini?

Tyra scoffed as a protestor struggles to answer a foreign journalist. “OUR ENGLISH EDUCATION IS HORRIBLE!” The comment section was far more brutal.


Tyra then stormed out screaming; “SHASHA!!! YOU’RE LATE FOR YOUR ENGLISH TUITION!”

All Sheila wanted was stipend for her internship. Instead, Tyra called her ungrateful despite the chance to work in a top fashion agency.

Sheila flew to her small town for the Sarawakian election season. Candidates in blue promised that only they can protect them from city folk, their jobs and their land.


There’s no way out of this town, it was so easy to buy.

It’s official. Sarawak was a blue state as usual. In anger, Tyra screamed how a corrupt party can win again and again. Seconds later she calmed herself and went back to work.


To an observing outsider, it was an enforcement of her class.
