The Arrogant Left

As someone who identified with left leaning ideas, I feel disappointed with how the left treats those they oppose ideologically. The simple go to response is to call them stupid while feeling superior over them.

What's sadder is when the poor become the victims here. These modern, college educated leftists think they are enlightened, elevated to a higher pedestal because they know who to vote for. Sorry, if you were in the same circumstances of those who you clash ideologically, then probably you could see why they come to those conclusions.

Take the American Tea Party for example, not the Boston one but the one with Ted Cruz and his band of evangelical Christians. They have been left behind by the economic progress that happened in urban areas. The only world they are exposed to are other Right Wingers and they see people on television who are Black, yet are often told of their privileged. Are they privileged if they were compared to a Black person of the same economic background? Probably. But compared to those who have become part of the economic and social elite, they feel that they are being talked down to. If they were to grow up in a background where socialism has not been demonized, then they probably would lean closer to those ideals.

Look at how rural England voted Labour before.

If the Tea Party members were to grow up in the same circumstance as most leftist are, they probably would label their anti establishment struggle as a class struggle.

Yet many leftist could not see it and still are blind. Their concerns are legitimate and they should be listened to. Maybe they need another Hollywood celebrity to integrate these concerns into their daily talking points, then they get it.

They could've learned how socialist policies could help them, but now they are just stupid backwater hillbillies who are too stupid to vote for their own interest.
